ABOUT THE SITE ADMINISTRATOR

This website is the property of James Wayman and is operated for the benefit of Porsche 356 Continental owners and others with an interest in that model.

My First introduction to Porsche happened in late 1955 or early 1956.  I was just a kid living in Hawaii and had a paper route, as was common for kids in the day.  A new customer moved into my area with a shiny Turkish Red Porsche Continental coupe.  They had purchased it from Johnny von Neumann's Competition Motors in California before moving to Hawaii where he had taken a position in the Chemistry Department at the University of Hawaii. They became a customer of mine and I occasionally carpooled to school with them.

Fast forward to 1970 when I bought my first Porsche, a 1958 Speedster.  The Speedster was followed by a 1970 911T, a 904, a SC coupe, a 1979 911SC, a 1955 Cabriolet, a 1952 coupe and in 2008 I was finally able to buy that old Turkish Red Continental coupe (#52979) from the same family that I had delivered newspapers to over 50 years ago.  It had been on blocks since 1970 and had only 50,000 miles on it.

After retiring in Hawaii in 2006, we moved to the "mainland" and currently live in Fallbrook, California where I have a small shop to work on my projects.

I have been a long-time collector of Porche literature, having attended the first Literature Meet in Los Angeles and just about every one since.  In the 1980s I compiled a large listing, with the help of many literature collectors, of all known 356 literature and all variants in publication dates and languages.
